The view from the marketing desk

The view from the marketing desk

We spoke to Susanna, from the marketing team at Quintype to give us deets on her role within the team.

How would you define your role at Quintype?

I work with the marketing team at Quintype. We are currently a small team so we juggle a lot of activities from building collaterals to public relations to inbound marketing.

I contribute to building marketing collaterals like case studies, guides, etc. and a larger part of my time goes towards email marketing, lead nurturing, website management, social media marketing and running ads. In simpler terms, I take measures to reach out to a wider audience that could benefit from Quintype's solutions.

What does a normal day look like for your team?

We begin our week with a catch up in the morning and build our task list for the whole week. We are very active on slack and communicate within the team and in relation to other teams.

Our primary focus is to generate MQLs and we work closely with the sales team to support activities with campaigns, audit reports and promotions. We also work closely with the customer success team to share insights on SEO and how to improve their website.

We also work in collaboration with multiple agencies to build contact databases, roll out press releases, publish cover stories, apply for esteemed awards for recognition and more. We manage a healthy website and blog page to keep our prospects informed on our products, features and developments.

How has working from home been for you?

It was difficult for me initially because I had to balance house chores and work. It was taxing until I got a system in place.

Ever since I've got a plan laid out, I've been able to balance work from home well. With the right mix of work, travel and play it's been an interesting lifestyle to settle into.

How has it been working with Quintype?

I’ve been working with Quintype for about 3 years. At the time, they had just started to build the marketing team and I got the opportunity to be a part of Quintype's growth. I feel proud to have watched the company grow from 20 clients to over 100.

Apart from work, I’ve made some good friends - going out on Tuesdays for wings at Plan B, playing Table Tennis and Badminton.

What is the most important trait for someone who wants to be in your team?

You need to be agile and at the same time follow a marketing plan. You will need to be creative to approach our target market across the regions. You have to be a multi-tasker because you will be running campaigns, managing the website and social media, hosting webinars, building collaterals, publishing blogs, finding new avenues to build opportunities all at the same time.

If Quintype was a friend, what kind of friend would it be?

Adventurous and fun. I was able to explore new marketing strategies and expand my knowledge. I was largely looking at SEO, website management and SEM before joining Quintype. With a small team, I had to pull up my sleeves and get my hands dirty from lead management to email marketing to building creatives to running marketing campaigns. It has helped me look at new colors and harness my skills.

What do you enjoy the most about your role?

I love it when we can see our campaigns becoming successful - when we get the interaction and engagement from our leads. We take pride in every business opportunity through inbound marketing especially when larger prospects are onboard. The things I’ve learnt over the last few years include a little bit of everything - designing on Canva, developing/coding and content creation.

What would your journal entry look like at the end of the day?

My journal entry would be short. I'd add highlights from the day, work or otherwise. I'd definitely maintain a list of to-do list so I can tick off tasks completed for some gratification.

Rather than pondering about a day that's passed I'd plan for the coming day.
