With over 4 years of experience with Quintype, Sareena Varghese from the sales department helps us paint the perfect picture of our work environment. We sat down with Sareena to hear about her journey at Quintype.
Having the sales role means that I am entrusted with the most vital endeavour of the organisation. This aspect of my role keeps me constantly motivated and helps me bring businesses which add value to the P&L and help my organization grow organically.
This also means that I have the added responsibility to guide and train the junior members of our team. In order to provide guidance, I ensure that there is a clear roadmap for the new recruits, a clear 30 day plan to ease them into their roles. I keep a lending hand out for the juniors, we have a quick daily catch up, to ensure that their journey is easy.
As a team, we maintain a pipedrive to help us navigate our efforts. Accompanied with the weekly meetings, this helps us work as a team with clarity.
Work from home comes with its pros and cons. You don’t have to travel, pack lunch or carry your laptop. But it also makes it difficult to balance personal and professional time.
Having a reliable support makes it all better. Be it small complaints with my laptop during the pandemic or the unlimited leave policy, Quintype has got me covered and that’s a great source of happiness.
Communication has been key. At Quintype, the daily stand ups at 9am - knowing what page everyone is on helps kick start the day with clarity. Tools like the pipedrive - where the team updates all progress and client reports, helps maintain transparency, aid easy functioning.
Of course, having my daughter and hubby at home 24/7 is an added challenge. While we ambush the kitchen trying to make toast with scrambled eggs and listen to my daughter’s new stories on every meal, work does get extended a few more hours.
Keeping both the house and the "WFH" situation functional is a challenge. But being surrounded by loved ones and working in the comfort of home sure helps keep the stress at bay.
The trick lies in the balance. Work from home can be challenging but the weekend appam and stew make up for it!
A Fearless Adventurer. Quintype is my adventurous friend who pulls me out of my shell and introduces me to new ideas, cultures, philosophies, and activities. A friend who will challenge us to be a better version of ourselves every day.
I believe our team is our greatest asset. We start our day with a Sales stand up, now on google meet. The best part is that we get to collaborate with all teams like Marketing, Finance, Product, Delivery and Customer support to achieve our goals.
Tools like Slack, Google Meet and well built OKRs, have helped us during the pandemic to collaborate effectively with our peers. During our weekly check-ins, we like to brainstorm sales pitches and learn a thing or two from one another. It all comes down to teamwork and working towards a common goal!
We are always ready with our to-do lists, which include the appointments and the mini tasks we need to get done.
In the fast changing world adaptability is the key. What stays constant is our unending enthusiasm and passion for learning, meticulous planning, and achieving our targets and goals.
Fantastic! It’s been a lovely journey! I have had plenty of exposure to challenging assignments. I was fortunate enough to have firsthand experience and learned many different sides of what goes into a project, the general process of how a project is initially planned, developed and completed; as well as how much work and detail goes into every stage.
Reflecting back to my first day at work in QT, it was one of the most memorable days of my time at work. After being introduced to everyone, I was handed a database to work on & run a campaign in three days in which they had asked me for recommendations as well as my opinions on the database and the sales automation tool as an entirety.
The team was very open and supportive of my suggestions and ideas. It made me feel comfortable and made me feel like a part of the team. Overall, my work experience has been pleasurable.
Confidence and knowledge about the products & services that we sell, down to the minute features and details.
Remember to look on the bright side and Work until the work is done
Every day isn’t going to be the best day and some days can be downright challenging. However, if you can remember to look on the bright side, the difficult days can be just another way to grow in both your career and life.
The thrill of closing / winning a deal is a high like no other.
Every day is different with it’s own highs and lows. I find myself journaling before bed, something I like to call the “worry dump.” I jot down anything I may be stressed about.
I write down my goals and to-do lists and also about the hurdles and tiny tricks I might have learned that day. I write about the silver linings. Be it small catch ups with colleagues, a successful client call or even a silly joke. A mantra I try to remember is “Try not to overthink it; allow your thoughts to flow.”
Most importantly, I end on a note of gratitude, to appreciate more and count my blessings.
